NVL Institute held the annual lighting festival and worship festival on 10^th, October 2019. In this afternoon, the students of NVL institute make “kadaw”, an apology for any transgression to teachers for their gratitude. The teachers accept the “kadaw” from students and returned forgiveness. Paying respects or “kadaw” ceremonies are organized and held in NVL institute. It was an unforgettable moment for teachers and students of NVL institute.

Thadingyut, the seventh month of the Myanmar calendar marks the end of the lent.  As a custom, it is held at the end of the Buddhist sabbath (Vassa) and is the second most popular festival in Myanmar after Thingyan Festival (New Year Water Festival). Thadingyut festival is the celebration to welcome the Buddha’s descent from the heaven after he preached the Abhidhamma to his mother, Maya, who was reborn in the heaven.

Buddhists celebrate Thadingyut to welcome the Buddha and his disciples by enlightening and festooning the streets, houses and public buildings with colored electric bulbs or candles, which represent those three stairways. During the festival days, Buddhists usually go to pagodas and monasteries to pay respect to the monks and offer foods. And some Buddhists usually fast on the full moon day.
